We have been doing the "no shopping for groceries", experiment for 2 weeks now. We did take the weekend off of our anniversary to go to NM. But, still no grocery shopping.
This is what I have been experiencing. I have to cook a lot more. I am much more creative. I do not waste a thing. I make sure things will last longer. I spread the snacks out more knowing I cannot shop. It has made me more aware of food and waste.
Doug has noticed the money he saves. He no longer eats out everyday, he now makes his lunch and snacks to eat during the day.
We have saved a lot of money not shopping. We do miss dairy queen frosties and potato chips. I have stuff here to make cookies, pies, etc. But again, no CHIPS - I don't buy chips very often but now that they are not in the house we seem to want them more. Go figure. It's amazing what we can find to eat in the house though. I search more now for what I need in my own home instead of the isles of Walmart.
It's been interesting to do this experiement, but so far it's not been really difficult. We still have two more weeks in our experiment, we shall see how that goes.

Should I send you your chips?!
I tried to do it for 2 weeks. It was so hard because I kept running out of milk! I did save money because I had made a menu for those 2 weeks. Its so hard but well worth it.Keep up the good work:)
